We have had the privilege of working with many different realtors and we love the real estate marketing business. We believe in real estate as an investment and for homeownership.
Working with different businesses, we have learned a few tricks of the real estate trade. We have found what doesn’t work so well, and what, frankly, knocks it out of the ballpark.
There is one tip that stands out amongst all the rest: good photography.
Why It Matters
If you are a realtor or work in a real estate agency, get your camera ready or find a Real Estate photographer. You can have the best website in the world, but if your pictures are low quality your site is less likely to appeal to people. In today’s digital world, having quality real estate photos trumps all else.
In old school real estate marketing, a few decent photographs could be used and reused in MLS listings, print advertising, real estate guides, and newspaper ads and it would work. A single photo or short series of photos was also sufficient for a marketing plan because the focus was on the repeat messaging and the repeated use of the same image.
The New Age Of Real Estate Marketing
In today’s digitally-oriented, highly social market, a single photograph used over and over will bore your audience.
Your listing images are used in all of the traditional print mediums; sellers guides, house brochures, newspaper advertisements, etc. They are also used on your website, and on social media platforms like Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter, and LinkedIn.
Print photographs are flat and one-dimensional. Online mediums require high-quality images that are pleasing to the eye and invite engagement as digital images can be shared, commented on, enlarged, and reposted.
The biggest difference between the new mediums is engagement. The quality and variety of images make an enormous difference in their ability to be shared!
